And features some of the best of Theatreroo actors from 2021: Sandro Colarelli, Cassie George, Hayden Rodgers, Lizzie Moore and Matt Newnham, with resident Musical Director, Sante d’Ettore – all directed by the iconic Denny Lawrence.

Featuring breathtaking songs from:

Boadicea; a Celtic Opera

The Brisbane written contemporary opera about the British feminist icon who dared challenge the might of Rome in 62 AD. Facing an unimaginable repression from a never before seen invader, Queen Boadicea led the primitive Celts in a fight to the death in their quest for freedom. She chose death over repression but her legend lives on.

Macbeth: Contemporary Rock Opera

From the same team who created Boadicea, Macbeth is the story of the Scottish general who was told by witches that he will become King of Scotland.  Encouraged by his ambitious wife, Macbeth kills the king, becomes the new king and murders more people to maintain his position.  He is defeated and deposed in a Civil war.

Utopia: The Amazing Australian Paraguayan Story

The amazing story of a Brisbane socialist journalist and adventurer, Billy Lane, who gathered and led almost 400 Australians to set up the New Australia commune in Paraguay in 1893. Seemingly always struggling with deprivation and disillusionment, New Australia had split and disintegrated by 1914. However, descendants of the original settlers still live in Paraguay. The general summation from those who went was that Lane's leadership was flawed because of his belief that the Australian bushman had no need to integrate with the local indigenous people.

Live at the Trocadero

Set in wartime Brisbane, Live at the Trocadero tells the story of Therese, the Townsville girl with big dreams, who comes to Brisbane to sing at The Trocadero nightclub in Melbourne Street.  She entertains the troops at The Troc, falls for an American GI - much to the displeasure of her Townsville Digger friend and suitor - but 'had one-hell of a ding dong time' along the way.
