A Brisbane Story Takes the Stage in New York City
Live at the Trocadero – Coming to New York!
Date to be announced.
After captivating audiences in Australia, Theatreroo is taking its celebrated cabaret Live at the Trocadero to New York — marking our first international performance. An intimate 60-minute musical experience set in wartime Brisbane, this show combines romance, swing, heart, and a touch of smoky nightclub magic. This is Australian musical storytelling — bold, warm, and irresistibly human — now ready to shine in NYC.

Step into the soft lights and swirling music of The Trocadero, Brisbane’s most vibrant nightclub of the 1940s.
Here we meet Therese, a young singer from Townsville who arrives in the big city with a dream and a suitcase full of hope.
Amid American servicemen on shore leave, jazz bands, laughter, longing, and the hum of a world at war, she must choose between the life she knows and the life she’s always imagined.
Love, ambition, identity and history overlap in one unforgettable night.
The Story
Therese leaves home with big dreams and finds herself at the heart of Brisbane’s hottest nightclub, the Trocadero. Surrounded by Australian locals and visiting American servicemen, she must navigate the thrills and dangers of wartime life: new friendships, complicated loyalties, and the emotional cost of choosing a future in uncertain times.
